Program of International Academic Mobility

International Exchange in Undergraduate Program of ULBRA

The Program of International Academic Mobility – International Exchange in Undergraduate Program of ULBRA allows the foreign students of universities in agreement to study from one to two semesters at ULBRA.

Pre-requisites for Participation

• To be regularly enrolled in university in agreement;
• To be over 18 years;
• To have some knowledge of Portuguese Language.

Period of Enrollment

From August 16th of 2010 to October 29th of 2010 – First Semester of 2011.
From March 14th of 2011 to May 20th of 2011 – Second Semester of 2011.

Academic Calendar

• 1st Semester – March to July
• 2nd Semester – August to December

Needed documentation

To take part in the Exchange program, the foreign student has to send to the University, the following documentation:

• Fulfilled registration form and signed by the student (click here to save the form in your computer);
• Previous commitment form of courses to be studied at ULBRA;
• 2 photos 3x4;
• Passport copy;
• Historic of courses studied;
• Résumé;
• Presentation and motivation letter explaining the reasons and goals of exchange;
• Permission and recommendation letter from the university in agreement to study at ULBRA.

The documentation must be delivered with two copies.

Acceptance Letter

After the confirmation and approval in the Exchange program by the coordinator of undergraduate program of ULBRA, the student will receive the acceptance letter that will be sent to the office of International Relations of the university of origin. Having this document, the student must send to the Brazilian authorities the solicitation of temporary visa of studies.

Visa of Student

To take part in the program of academic mobility or any other academic activity at ULBRA, it is necessary for the student to get the visa close to Consular Division of Embassy of Brazil or at the Brazilian Consulate in the origin country of student.

Health Insurance

It is necessary to get health insurance for the period of studies at ULBRA. It must be provided before arriving in Brazil, because one cannot get it in our country.

Cost of Living

The official currency of Brazil is the real (R$).

In the city of Canoas:

Food R$ 20,00/ per day x 30 days = R$ 600,00 (six hundred reais).
Living in Apart Hotel close to the University: R$ 550,00 (five hundred and fifty reais).
Other expenses: R$ 200,00 (two hundred reais).
Total amount in reais: R$ 1.350,00 (one thousand, three hundred and fifty reais). In Dollars USD 750,00.
We remember that this cost can change in agreement with the individual needs of each student.

The Department of International Relations (DRI) of University has as goal to promote actions of international university cooperation that help in the scientific, cultural and technological development of University.
