    Daniel Simon

    Graduated in Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 1992), received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UFRGS (1995 and 2001, respectively). Currently is an adjunct professor at the Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA), performing research in the following topics: genetic epidemiology of complex diseases; and virology, with focus on viral hepatitis B and C.

    Graduated in in Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) (1990) with emphasis in Industrial Pharmacy; Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences at (UFRGS) (1995).; PhD in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) at UFRGS (2003). Currently is an assistant professor at Lutheran University of Brazil. Member of the Postgraduate Course in Cellular and Molecular Biology Applied to Health and of the professional Postgraduate Course in Genetics and Applied Toxicology. She is a professor acting in the disciplines of biophysics, biochemistry and physiology. The main international publications are in the areas of Mutagenesis and Toxicology, researching mainly on the following topics: toxicological, genotoxic and antioxidant activities of bioactive substances and development of products with pharmacological potential and photoprotectors.

Has experience in Material and Metallurgical Engineering, focusing on polymer applications, gas chromatogratphy, acylglicerides, glicerides, fatty acids, fluorescent polymers.

    Graduated in Biology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1989), MSc (1994), PhD (1999) and post-doctoral degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2001). Associate professor at the Lutheran University of Brazil-ULBRA, acting as advisor to master's and doctoral students in the Postgraduate Program Cellular and Molecular Biology Applied to Health (PPGBioSaúde) and Professional Master?s in Genetics and Applied Toxicology-PPGGTA-MP. Coordinates the Laboratory of Genetic Toxicology. Currently is member of the Advisory Committee of Biological Sciences- FAPERGS (2015-2017); composes the executive board of the Association of Mutagenesis and Genomics and Environmental Genomics (Mutagen-Brazil) (2016-2018); and the editorial board of Mutation Research - Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis (2016-2019). Experience in Genetics, focusing on Mutagenesis: genotoxicity, mutagenesis, environmental biomonitoring, and occupational risk.

    Lindolfo da Silva Meirelles

    Graduated in Biological Sciences (1999), his Master of Science (Genetics and Molecular Biology) degree (2003), and his Ph.D. in Science (Genetics and Molecular Biology) degree (2007) from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. During his Ph.D., he undertook a period of research at Case Western Reserve University. After completing his Ph.D., he became a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of São Paulo. Currently, he is a faculty member at Lutheran University of Brazil. His expertise includes Genetics, with emphasis on Cell Biology. His research interests include stem cells; biology and applications of postnatal mesenchymal stem/stromal cells; pericytes; interactions between mesenchymal stem/stromal cells and endothelial cells.

    Vagner Ricardo Lunge

    Bachelor's degree in Agronomy (1989), Master's degree in Agricultural and Environmental Microbiology (1993) and PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology (2000) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Has also specialization in Microbiology and Molecular Biology (1995) at Cornell University in the United States. Currently is a professor and scientific researcher at the Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA) and partner in the company Simbios Biotecnologia. At ULBRA, teaches classes in the undergrad courses of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine, as well as in the postgraduate programs in Cellular and Molecular Biology applied to Health (Masters and PhD) and in Genetics and Applied Toxicology (Masters). Also works in the development of scientific and technological research projects, as well as in the training of human resources. Has experience in Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, working on topics related to Molecular Diagnosis in the areas of Human / Animal Health and Agroindustry. Coordinates the Molecular Diagnostic Research Group (ULBRA) and participates in two other scientific groups: Human Molecular Genetics (ULBRA) and Veterinary Virology (UFRGS).
